In 2010 Frontier Electric embarked on their first ever food collection in support of the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD). Did you know that 1 in 6 people in Cook County Illinois depend on food drive donations? Every year since 2010 Frontier Electric has conducted a food drive between November and December. The first year we collected 499 pounds of food and last year in 2015 we collected and donated 925 pounds of food. Our loyal customers play a huge part in the collection roll. They generously help us year after year to help fight the hunger issue in our community. Not only does Frontier Electric collect and donate food but we match the pounds of food collected with a monetary donation. Just $1 can supply 3 meals for those that are food insecure.
In 2013 Frontier Electric hosted a Toy drive to help benefit the children of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. The toy drive was a great success. We collected over 75 toy items to donate to the children. Toys ranged from crayons and coloring books to stuffed animals, books and building blocks. The items we collected were distributed to children for birthdays, after surgery success and in general for being brave and fighting the obstacles that they face on a daily basis.
international childrens day
June 1 was proclaimed to be International Children’s Day by the World Conference for the Well-being of Children in Geneva, Switzerland. It’s a day where children rejoice in their childhood and get a break from the day-to-day trials and tribulations of the adult world. June 5, 2016 this event was held in Chicago Illinois and Frontier Electric was proud to be a sponsor.
