Our Indiana salesman brought the Thomas & Betts mobile solutions vehicle to an Industrial / Portable Air Compressor customer in northwest Indiana for hands on demonstration of the product and tooling.  They were happy with both product quality and the tooling and support that they decided to go with T&B for all their connector needs.  The customers Engineering and Production team appreciated the training and learned valuable information on crimping connections and philosophies hands on with the Tooling and product onsite.  Since the training and demonstrations we have supplied them with a 100 bin rack for organizing their T&B product and also supplied them the proper tooling for these parts.  We manage the inventory on their rack so that the product does not fall below their required minimum quantities.

A major paper printing equipment manufacturer was looking to increase productivity in the electrical assembly group and asked for our help.  One area we found that was in need of an upgrade was how they currently marked and identified their terminal blocks.  We brought in the terminal block specialist from ABB and we presented the new AMS500 printer system to them.  The system will print any major manufacturers terminal block labels which was a great selling tool for this customer. While they have standardized on ABB terminal blocks they do have applications where customers require them to use other manufacturer’s products.  So we have given them flexibility when they need it but have also reduced standard marking costs and labor by 50%.

A large plastic injection molding company asked for our help on improving there large AC drives systems.  They were having difficulty with wiring and terminations with the drive cable they were using.  It was not flexible enough in the tight spaces they have and it was taking their assemble people to long to install.  We presented the new Lutze Driveflex cable that solved both of their problems.  The Driveflex cable offered a much higher bend radius which means they can stay with their current enclosure design.  The Driveflex has a specially formulated jacket for improved oil resistance as well as an “easy strip design” which helped decrease installation time by 25%.

A packing equipment manufacturer in Indiana was receiving equipment that they integrate into their package from overseas, including the controls and automation.  The code was written by a third party and in a foreign language which caused them issues in support and customization.  We worked with Eaton to offer a local solution for the controls on the machines.  We worked with Eaton to offer training on the product and programming to their engineers.  They are now writing and customizing their own code for the automation products for the items that they buy from us.

We can and do work closely with our customers who like to do transactions via company portals. We have 2 good customers that use this practice and on a daily basis we retrieve orders, confirm back orders and update delivery dates; which in turn gives us high ratings in on-time delivery. The practice of using customer portals benefits our customers greatly. Not only does it make doing business with us easy but it also improves delivery dates on sales orders.

One of our system integration customers have been buying disconnects from us for a few years. When purchasing a complete disconnect solution there are several part numbers that need to be ordered. We have developed a system of kitted disconnect part numbers so they only need to purchase 1 part number which will then provide them with all of the parts they need for a complete disconnect solution. This saves their purchasing agents a lot of time when ordering from Frontier.
